Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the media literacy activities that have been obtained by SD Negeri 1 Bengkulu. This research was conducted by the method of discussion to students to find out the extent of media literacy obtained from parents through mentoring activities when accessing media impressions, data collection techniques in this study were observations, and interviews to obtain primary data. Secondary data were obtained through literature studies and documentation studies. The research informant was determined by purposive techniques for grade 4, 5, and 6 students of SD Negeri 1 Bengkulu. Data analysis is carried out through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The findings in the field were analyzed using Social Learning Theory. The results showed that informants are happy and love to watch television. Watching television is already a routine activity that is carried out almost every day, especially Sundays and school holidays, but only at certain hours as well as for certain shows such as the cartoons Upin and Ipin, Spongebob, Masha and The Bear, the show On The Spot. The findings in the field also show that some informants, in addition to watching the shows mentioned above, also watch soap operas such as Street Children, Anugerah Cinta, and Baper, which are actually not worth watching by children of the informant's age. Television viewing activities are carried out with parents and family members. Informants feel happy to be accompanied by parents when watching because they can choose a good and decent show to watch, and the informant can also ask about the show being watched.
