Karakteristik Komunikasi Pasca Perselingkuhan Suami dalam Hubungan Pernikahan

Abstract

Cases of infidelity are widely found in people's lives and are also not unfamiliar, domestic problems are a topic of discussion in various mass media. After the conflict of infidelity, many couples eventually broke off their relationship by divorcing in an effort to resolve the conflict. The decision was taken because there was no other way out. But there are also couples who still maintain the relationship.  Terence of infidelity will have an impact on changes in communication. The change will be a characteristic of communication in itself that distinguishes it from others. The purpose of this study is to out the characteristics of communication after a husband's infidelity occurs that o in a marital relationship. The uniqueness or interesting thing about this research is that it reviews previous research and studies on post-conflict communication in Indonesia are still limited because most popular literature departs from western culture. This research uses a qualitative approach. The results of the research that has been carried out show that the occurrence of infidelity in the marriage relationship gives rise to new communication characteristics, namely low trust in the couple, high curiosity towards the couple, changes in communication in its context, and the selection of face-to-face or direct communication and avoiding the involvement of third parties in resolving conflicts in the marriage relationship. However, there are also couples in marriage relationships after the occurrence of infidelity who have two characteristics of passive communication, silence and, differences
